What are your views on SFX giving Murky Depths the title "Fanzine Of The Month"?

Murky Depths' high production values puts it on a par with SFX, so "fanzine" undervalues it. Define fanzine . . .
Murky Depths is mainly a short story magazine, and diverse stories at that. It's not a magazine that can readily be pigeon-holed.

I don't read SFX anymore... I guess because of that sort of thing.

They didn't mean it as an insult. In my opinion, Murky Depths is the best independent publication currently available. Being independent, though, is the problem. MD is caught between small press and professional publications. Calling it Fanzine of the month is both an honour and a humbling reminder of MD's independent status.
